Registered Dietitian with a Special Interest in Breastfeeding Support

We know that breastfeeding is natural but that does not mean it is easy for everyone. Getting the right early support from a qualified healthcare professional can make all the difference.

My Education

With a BSc in Public Health Nutrition and 2 years’ experience of working in obesity research, I graduated at King’s College London with an MSc in Dietetics in 2009 and worked as a registered dietitian in Cambridge for 4 years. I worked in hospital and community settings, gaining a broad range of experience with a variety of client groups and conditions.

Further Training

When I had my first baby I realised how important it is to get good breastfeeding support, and I decided that I wanted to help other mothers achieve their breastfeeding goals.

I completed additional paediatric modules with the British Dietetic Association, and undertook a specialist breastfeeding training course with the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers in England. I recently had my second baby in January 2014, so my breastfeeding knowledge has been tried and tested!

I am registered as a dietitian with the Health Professions Council of Namibia, I am a member of the International Lactation Consultants Association (ILCA), and an associate member of the independent midwives' association of Namibia (IMANA).

Breastfeeding support

My special interest is in supporting mothers with initiating and maintaining breastfeeding, infant feeding, and optimal nutrition in the early years.
